Scarsdale Diet - Protein Bread Recipe

You can buy protein bread from the grocery store however making your own is much nicer, and it will help give you added resolve when during those tough periods.



  1. Add water to a mixing bowl then sprinkle in the dry yeast until the yeast dissolves. Mix in salt, sugar and apple cider vinegar
  2. Sift gluten flour and soy flour together then add (slowly) to the yeast mixture
  3. Sift whole wheat flour then add that to the mixture
  4. Slowly turn the mixture to form dough that binds together, a food processor or mixer with dough hooks can be used
  5. Sprinkle flour lightly on board. Knead dough on surface for about five minutes until it is smooth and elastic
  6. Spray a bread pan with non-stick spray and shape dough to fit pan
  7. Add dough to pan and cover with damp towel before placing in a warm place to rise for two to three hours
  8. Bake in an overn preheated to 325°F (160°C) for one hour until light golden brown
  9. Place somewhere to cool then serve
